Hypocrisy; one of the many reasons liberals aren’t sexy

January 22, 2008 · 2 Comments

Everyone’s favorite anti-capitalism, pro-immigration, pro-union retailer of unflattering jersey knits is again illustrating the idiocy of the left.

American Apparel president Dov Charney is (again) involved in a sexual harassment suit and this time it is finally making it to court.

LOS ANGFELES, Calif., Jan. 17 (UPI) — Dov Charney, eccentric founder of casual fashion giant American Apparel, faces another sexual harassment trial in Los Angeles.

It’s the fourth time similar allegations have been brought against Charney — two have been settled — this time by former employee Mary Nelson, who accuses him of by using sexually explicit language and behaving in sexually inappropriate ways, the Los Angeles Times reported. The trial may begin as early as next week.

During several meetings with her — including one at his home — he was dressed only in his underwear, the suit alleges. On another occasion, according to the suit, he appeared in less.

Charney acknowledges that he has appeared in his underwear many times in front of male and female employees and sometimes in skimpier garments.

But those events, he said, have to be understood in the context of the fashion industry.

This allegation coupled with past cases which alleged that Charney made demeaning comments to female employees suggest that Mr. Charney isn’t the saint that his company’s marketing machine would like us to believe.

It amuses me that a man that has publicly compared our current immigration to “apartheid” would marginalize his female workforce. Regardless of the industry no one is comfortable seeing an unattractive man with only his genitals covered. No number of company bikes or free healthcare can negate the unpleasantness of having to see your ugly boss nearly naked.

Recent advertising campaigns by Charney’s company ave called for a path to citizenship and fair employment for undocumented workers why not extend the same rights to your existing, American born, staff?

To the Straw Poll…

January 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I am super excited for the upcoming CT GOP straw poll in Middletown, CT. There isn’t much more to this blog other than my encouraging anyone reading my blog i.e. my friends to come out and show their support for Gov. Mitt Romney.

I will be leaving directly from work but if you would like to join me at this event *please* be in touch..I plan on making a night of it and spending some time hitting up the bar and meeting some of Connecticut’s 5 republicans.

Any Republican voter may participate in the event by paying a $10 entrance charge to cover the cost of the event, which entitles them to one ballot. State Central is also planning on-line voting during the hours of the Straw Poll at their website, www.ctgop.org. Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Connecticut Breast Cancer Coalition Foundation.

“The Straw Poll is an exciting way for Republicans to take their case to their fellow party members, exchange ideas and pick their candidate a week before the February 5th primary,” said State Party Chairman Chris Healy. “This election is historic in many ways and Republicans in Connecticut will show they are ready to win Connecticut for our candidate for the first time since 1988.”
